I'm a web developer with over a decade of experience building data-driven web applications, and I love bridging logic and intuition, in code and in life.

Most of my career has been spent in full-stack Microsoft .NET development, with a real soft spot for data: writing and tuning SQL Server queries across large datasets, building reports, and creating custom processes for clients with complex needs. I've helped sunset legacy projects, contributed to new growth, and worked in sprint-based Agile teams alongside QA, product and implementation folks, doing code reviews, refinement, estimation and retrospectives together.

I've earned real confidence in my ability to pick up new languages, frameworks and tools. I believe curiosity, intuition, empathy and kindness belong in tech just as much as problem-solving and analytical skills. I'm thorough, supportive and adaptable, and I want to keep building things that spark wonder and contribute to the well-being of people and our planet.

Discovering I'm a Cancer rising was a bit of a personal revelation: the crab, the moon, the feelings, it all resonated. So it's probably no surprise that my portfolio turned into a site about the moon. 🌙

About Moon Data

Moon Data started as a small app to calculate the phase of the moon and grew into a collection of tools for anyone curious about the sky:

  • Moon Sign, Sun Sign and Planet Signs work out where the moon, sun and planets are for any date and time.
  • Birth Chart calculates your Sun, Moon, rising sign and every planet for the moment you were born.
  • The Zodiac describes all twelve signs.
  • Moon Journal is a private mood journal that shows how you feel across the moon's cycle, and Moon Pulse shares anonymous community trends.
  • Space Ipsum makes space-themed placeholder text, just for fun.

How it's built

  • ASP.NET Core 8 MVC with Razor views, styled with Bootstrap and a custom space theme
  • Moon Journal is a Blazor WebAssembly app that installs like a native app, works offline and keeps entries on your device
  • Planet positions come from NASA JPL's published orbital elements, and the Sun's position from standard astronomical formulas
  • The community Moon Pulse data is stored anonymously with Entity Framework Core and SQLite
  • The planet and zodiac illustrations were drawn in code (SVG) for this site
